The Telegraph Travel Awards were first established in 1998 as one of the most comprehensive consumer surveys of British travel habits. Normally awards like these are won by big companies and are simply based on the quantity of votes rather than the quality of the holiday provided. The Telegraph take a different approach and judge their awards on both quantity and quality which give smaller, specialist tour operators like Scenic Tours a much better chance to compete with larger companies.
